It’s time to admit defeat…or is it

You can’t sit around and just expect things to happen for you, well you can but they won’t. Sometimes a plan you had can change instantly and lead you on another path that you had no idea was even an option. You might stop at some point and say “This isn’t what I wanted, I should be doing something different, like what I was meant to do”. Don’t worry, you are right where you’re supposed to be, maybe the end result is just a few more miles down the road, but the fact remains you’re still moving, still alive, still motivated.

Thoughts like these have graced my brain matter frequently in the last couple of years. Yea years, it’s been almost 2 and a half years since I walked away from my keyboard and stopped typing things and enjoying it. Stopped exploring ideas and looking past inspirational and creative roadblocks to just get out, drive, live my life and enjoy keeping memories intact through a digital memoir. Maybe that’s not entirely true, I did spend my days off in 2019 making a YouTube show called “Days Off (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLMN_hEaUY_oT-clO0Loxtw). It was a lot of fun, a lot of learning and a lot of work. I have fond memories stamped in time and easy to access and share with my fleeting sense of what, when and where I have been. Then came 2020, it kicked off in fantastic nature with a 36 hour stint watching racecars be racecars at Daytona, the rest of 2020? We won’t go there.

So was starting this a waste? of course not, none of it is. I fought myself on this for a while thinking that “It’s been so long I stopped writing, this was a failure!” You can only be negative for so long until something or someone makes you remember, you can do whatever you want and the only person who needs to care about it, is you. I guess you could say metaphorically I slammed into a creative K-rail and I’ve been rebuilding the car for 2 years. So I won’t make this long winded and drawn out, or maybe I already have, comment below. No schedule, no expectations, just things that I see and want to share and talk about. Hope you enjoy the stories, I hope we can be in one of them together. Once again, I’ll see you on the road.

A lot has changed, hopefully my inconsistent nature has too.

  1. You can’t always look too far ahead. Sometimes the next step won’t be clear until you’re standing right in front of it. A wise man once said “I live my life a quarter mile at a time”. You know I’ll always be happy to play a character in your stories, just let me know where and when to be.
